Kathy Griffin Signs on to Host ABC's New Dance Show

"ABC is getting ready to dance-- this time with Kathy Griffin.

The comic/reality show star has signed on to host "Let's Dance," a new reality competition series in which celebrities re-enact famous dance routines from pop culture. According to the network's website, the series will debut Monday, Nov. 23 at 9:30, immediately following the performance finale of "Dancing with the Stars."

ABC has ordered five episodes of "Dance," which lets contestants choose their favorite celebrity routines. The top finishers return for a grand finale in December.

The network's website doesn't list a regular timeslot for "Let's Dance." TheWrap has emailed ABC asking for details.

We had something like this in the UK for Comic Relief. It was bizarre and cringy, but should be good

I'm excited about this !
- Kathy loves this genre so will be authentic as a host
- what makes this show different than the other's is the finalists are >
one couple is the judges choice, the other couple is the viewers choice.
If it's a ratings "hit" we'll get to visit with Kathy once a week and she can still be free to do her live comedy on weekends.
I just hope one of the Canadian channels will pick it up .

But yeah, I'm basically wondering the same thing. And I keep thinking that they must have offered her a lot of money to do this, cause I just don't get why she'd do it otherwise. lol I feel like she doesn't NEED to do stuff like this anymore (takes me back to when she hosted Average Joe), or could do better. So I hope she's at the very least getting paid a nice chunk of cash. =P But who knows, maybe I'll be surprised by it - in a good way.

Are you kidding me? It's a great gig, on a big network and about her favorite topic: the ridiculousness of celebrity, it's perfect for Kathy.
I'm not a fan of these shows, although the only time I watched "dancing with the stars", I admit I was dazzled so who knows.

This is an awesome idea! Kathy's quick whit, obsession with reality TV competition and celebrities all in one perfect package. Can't wait to see Kathy in action. This better go longer than 5 episodes.

Hmmm. I don't like these shows so I'll probably won't even watch it so I REALLY hope this doesn't mean My Life on the D-List is not coming back. Because that's Bravo/NBC and this is ABC so I'm kinda fearing the worse. And either way... how will she have time to do both?
