Kathy Griffin asks Mom to Take a Side on 'The Insider''

Kathy Griffin, who will appear on "The Insider"'s panel on Friday, provoked her always-funny mom, Maggie Griffin, to sound off on the latest entertainment headlines. The mother-daughter duo appeared at an Aid for AIDS event on Thursday night, at which Kathy was honored for her contributions to the cause.

Calling Jon Gosselin "publicity crazy," Maggie said, "I think it's very sad...I'm more angry with him, much more than with her [Kate]. I can like her. I think she's a good mom."

Kathy teased her mom about some of her boyfriend prospects. Maggie sarcastically said she'd "be real proud" of Kathy if she dated Jon Gosselin. She went on to say that Kathy's cougar crush, Levi Johnston, is "another gem."

The comedian responded, "I think my mother needs to accept that Levi Johnston is going to be her son-in-law and maybe she could go hunting with us in Wasilla."

Watch "The Insider" on Friday to hear Kathy weigh in on the issues. Plus, Kathy invited the fashionable panel to decide who was dressed better—her or drag queen Lotta Slots. Of their similar looks, she said, "I'm a little bitter because I thought I was going to be the only lady in sequins and as you can see I certainly was not."
