Part of the site's volunteer staff, Cookie does a ton to clean up the galleries and keep specific areas of Kathy's internet forums operational. A great and appreciated friend of the site.

Where are you?

I am originally from the Midwest, grew up in a smallish town in Illinois. (Our speech team was usually trounced by the smarter kids in the Chicago schools - one of the many levels I can appreciate Kathy on!) It was a nice place to grow up, but then again, a little Twin Peaks-ish. Just under the surface of every bucolic town, y'know? Anyhow, I moved to Los Angeles in my 20s and have lived here since. Totally different change of pace, but I love it here. People gripe about living here, but they stay for twenty years. I noticed that early into living here so I don't gripe about it. It's just like the song "Hotel California" - they all stay or eventually come back. So ya might as well 'fess up to loving it here. I do.

How long have you been a fan of Kathy Griffin?

I've always thought she was funny, since seeing her on Suddenly Susan, but I think the first real appreciation of her personality, her whip-smart humor, was when I saw her on some special. I think it was about celebrity assistants, I'm not sure. I just remember her being fully honest on camera and saying what came to mind, and that is sooo rare in this town which kind of runs quite frankly, on B.S. A hint how long ago that was? She had a male assistant.

What other comedians do you like?

Kathy is my favorite comic. After that, I don't want to be insulting but it's a far dropoff. I simply love Kathy's honesty or bluntness if you will. There are no flounces on her statements yet she manages to make it not just funny but laugh out loud funny. I think you have to go back a ways to find people at that level. Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce, (although he wasn't laugh out loud funny to me, he was a pioneer and very brave), George Carlin. Rest in peace all of them. Oh, I also like Patton Oswalt quite a bit, and I like watching Rosie too although I consider her a social commentator more than a comedian. Ricky Gervais, Graham Norton (a real treat to see them *both* on My Life on the D List). I like Rita Rudner too sometimes, although it's not usually my type of humor. She's more Catskills, but as I said I appreciate anyone trying to make people laugh in this stressful world.

How and when did you become a Moderator?

The main Mods were already in place but at one point a call went out for volunteers to supplement the staff a bit, so I applied. After a bit I was asked to find articles about Kathy and notify Will of them, as well as to watch some of the news/promotion forums for spam, that type of thing. I couldn't seem to work the uploader for the articles (technically impaired I suppose). But I think I found my true calling as a spam janitor. Now I zap spam full time in the fan pic forum.

What do you like most about your job?

I actually love deleting spam. I'm weird that way. Who knew? No but seriously, I like being of some sort of service to the forum, and there is some weird thrill in taking that spam pleasure away from someone halfway around the world. I mean really how dare they? People come here to read about Kathy, her press, her news, and to peruse pix by or pertaining to Ms. Griffin. Not to read about World of Warcraft in Chinese.

What do you like least about your job?

Knowing that no matter how long I live, I will never be able to read Chinese.

What other things do you like to do?

I love movies, and once upon a time I loved collecting Criterion films. I have stopped buying discs, though. The future is digital, I think. So I love anything pertaining to movies, reading about them, writing about them, talking about them. I love to sketch, to draw. I love computers and any type of creative or game software (non violent only). This is what I dreamed of being able to do when I was a child: and now it's coming true. I have to learn a lot still, though, before I become anywhere near proficient in computers/software/photoshop, the way I'd like to be. There are a lot of things I want to learn, I love learning. But I'm extremely impatient while doing so. So a classroom setting isn't really for me. There are many things I'd love to do now that I am getting my health back again. Travel.

What is your favorite Kathy moment?

I don't know if I can choose just one! Honestly. But what comes to mind are just every moment we were honored to see, with her family. There is clearly a lot of love there. I really feel we were all privileged to be able to have been let in on that a little. Their gift to the audience was, we felt we knew them all too. And it's just nice to see families that spend time together.
